Public transport
We recommend to leave Mainz central station via Exit „West“. Please walk along the parking area towards the bus stop with buses or city train heading to the right hand, away from central station. Pick either of the lines 51 (city train), 53 (city train), 54, 55. Take a short trip ticket. Leave the bus or city train at the second stop „Friedrich-von-Pfeiffer-Weg“ and take the pedestrian bridge. Head in the direction of travel (from the main station), pass Staudinger-Weg, turn left (street without name). The department is located on the right hand side.
By car
There is no public parking near the department but it is possible to enter the campus area one day a week by car without anything to care about. Just pass the main gate at Ackermannweg 10 and turn left into Duesbergweg. Right after Hahn-Meitner-Weg there are several parking lots on the left side of the road.
From Motorway A60
Exit „Mainz-Finthen“ in the direction „Saarstraße/Innenstadt“. After traffic circle „Europakreisel“ take exit „Universität / Bretzenheim“, then follow the signs towards „Universität“.
At Mainz Chemistry building (Neubau Chemie, Duesbergweg 10–14):
Offices: central hall, building 2.222, 2nd floor, room 2.126
Labs: central research building (to be entered from central hall), building 2.224, 1st floor
Lecture halls: building 2.321 (close to mensa), ground floor
