The Electrochemistry Award 2021 was given to our former member Dr. Johannes L. Röckl by the Division for Electrochemistry of the GDCh. He is awarded in recognition of his achievements in merging the shuttle catalysis with electrosynthesis that were published in Science. The topic is considered as seminal work for upcycling persistent pollutants.
